Terms & Conditions

MemoWire · Last updated 5 June 2026
The one-line version: MemoWire is satire and commentary made for entertainment. The funny headline on top is a joke; the real story sits underneath in “the Receipts,” with a link to the original publisher. Don’t treat the satire as fact, and please read the source.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By installing, opening or using MemoWire (the “App” / “Service”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App. We may update these Terms from time to time (see §14); continued use means you accept the current version.

2. What MemoWire is

MemoWire is a satirical news and commentary product. Headlines, “Takes,” captions and visuals are exaggerated for comic effect and are opinion, parody and commentary — not statements of fact. We label our confidence in the underlying real event with a Fact Meter (Confirmed / Developing / Unverified), but MemoWire is not a source of record. Do not rely on the App for news, financial, legal, medical or any other decisions. For the facts, read the original source we link to.

3. How MemoWire works

4. Our editorial standards (the rules we keep on ourselves)

We aim humour at decisions, systems, institutions, brands and the powerful — punching up, never down. We do not target private individuals, and we steer clear of religion, caste, communities, tragedy, minors, and ongoing criminal matters. We approach civic topics in a constitutional spirit (the citizen’s stake and public accountability), not a partisan political one. AI-generated media is labelled, and we don’t imply that any real person or brand endorses us.

5. Eligibility & acceptable use

6. Intellectual property

MemoWire’s original writing, design and visuals belong to us or our licensors — please don’t repost them without credit and permission. Headlines, summaries and trademarks of the original publishers and brands we comment on belong to their respective owners; we use them for the purpose of reporting, criticism, review and parody. If you believe your work has been used improperly, contact our Grievance Officer (§10) and we’ll act promptly.

7. Third-party links & sources

The App links to third-party websites and publishers. We don’t control and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, advertising or practices. Accessing them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

8. AI-generated content

Some images and text are created or assisted by AI and are labelled where shown. AI visuals are conceptual illustrations; any people in them are generic and fictional, and we do not depict real, identifiable public figures. If an AI visual ever resembles a real person, that is unintended and coincidental — tell us and we’ll change it.

9. Notifications & your data

Push notifications are optional and can be turned off any time in the App’s Options or your device settings. We keep things minimal: most preferences live on your device. What we do collect and why is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

10. Grievance redressal & content reporting

We take complaints seriously. If any content is unlawful, infringes your rights, or breaches these Terms, you can report it to our Grievance Officer. In line with India’s Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days (and act faster on seriously harmful content). Please include the Post, the issue, and your contact details.

11. Disclaimers & no warranty

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Satirical content is opinion and parody; to the fullest extent permitted by law, you shouldn’t and can’t rely on it as fact.

12. Limitation of liability & indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MemoWire and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any action you take based on the Service. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the App or your breach of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend, restrict or remove access to the App or any content at any time, including to comply with law or address abuse. You may stop using the App at any time; you can clear your local data via Options → “Reset my data.”

14. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as the product evolves. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes may be highlighted in-app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

15. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [your city], India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.

This is a plain-language baseline for an early version of MemoWire and is not legal advice. Before scaling — and especially before any political content, user-generated content, paid promotions, or accounts — have a qualified Indian media/IP lawyer review and finalise these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the grievance process, and fill in the bracketed placeholders ([Grievance Officer name], [your city]).
