MemoWire is a satirical news app. We've built it to need as little of your data as possible, and to be honest about the little it does use. This policy explains what the app collects, where it's stored, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.
No account is required. Your reading streak, saved cards, reactions, and settings (sound, read-mode, data-saver, notification choice) are stored only on your device in local browser storage. Optional Press Pass details are described below.
Two optional features send a small amount of data to our servers:
We do not sell your data, run third-party ad trackers, or set advertising cookies.
If you choose “Allow location,” your browser sends your precise latitude and longitude to BigDataCloud for reverse geocoding. BigDataCloud returns a city/region; MemoWire stores that approximate result on your device and, if alerts are enabled, alongside your push subscription on our server. We do not store the precise coordinates. BigDataCloud receives the coordinates and processes the request under its own privacy practices.
To learn what people enjoy, the app records anonymous, aggregate counts — for example how many times a card was viewed, reacted to, or shared, per day. These are counters only: no cookies, no account, no IP addresses, and nothing that identifies you is stored.
MemoWire runs on Cloudflare. The push subscription and any optional profile fields are kept in Cloudflare Workers KV, and media in Cloudflare R2, on Cloudflare's global edge network (which may process data in the United States and other countries). The host may keep standard, non-identifying request logs. Retention: anonymous usage counts auto-expire after 120 days; your push subscription and profile fields are kept until you delete your data or turn alerts off (below). When you tap through to a source, you're on the original publisher's site, under their own privacy policy.
MemoWire is satire and commentary for entertainment. Content may be AI-assisted and is labelled accordingly. We are not a source of record; please don't make decisions based on it.
MemoWire is rated 18+ and is not directed at children. The optional profile does not accept an age below 18 — we do not knowingly collect any personal data from minors.
Open Profile → Delete my data while online. After our server confirms removal of your push subscription and any optional profile fields (name / email / phone / location), the app clears your local profile, streak, saved cards and settings from that device. If the server request fails, your local data remains so you can retry. You can also turn off "Daily dose alerts" to remove the push subscription.
If this version adds accounts or cloud features in future, this policy will be updated before those features collect any personal data.
